Several Ward Melville High School students have earned prestigious recognition in two recent art competitions: the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and the Atelier Show. Their creativity and dedication to the arts have been acknowledged with high honors.
Scholastic Art & Writing Awards
* Kristen Dietz.
* Maria Gavrilov – Gold Key for “A Room I’ve Seen Before,” honorable mention for “Fruit of Seven Hour Idle.”
* Zamaan Malik – honorable mention for “A Clear Cut” and “It’s All in the Eyes.”
* Wendy Tong – Silver Key for “Dress Up” and “When We’re Together,” honorable mention for “Storytime.”
* Zoe Xiao – Gold Key for packaging design project (Intro to Graphic Design), and Gold Key for “Self-Portrait.”
* Aimee Yang – Gold Key for “Immersion,” Silver Key for “The Boundary.”
