Ward Melville High School student Agata Arkhipkina was selected as a 2025 YoungArts Award winner in the writing/fiction category for her story, “Canning Peaches.” The YoungArts national competition invites students in grades 10 through 12 to submit work across 10 disciplines within the visual, literary and performing arts.

More than 800 of the most accomplished young artists were named winners in the 2025 competition. They were selected from nearly 11,000 applicants by a panel of esteemed artists. Each winner received a monetary award of $250. All YoungArts award winners have demonstrated exceptional technique, a strong sense of artistry and a commitment to developing their craft.
