Fifth graders at Arrowhead Elementary School brought history to life during Biography Day. Students researched famous historical or contemporary figures and created presentations highlighting how their chosen person overcame challenges and showcased their admirable qualities. The fifth graders fully immersed themselves in the experience, dressing up as their historical figure and using Book Creator, a digital e-book tool, to present their findings to classmates.

The activity was connected to their ELA program, with the first module focusing on inventors and the qualities that drive individuals to succeed. Not only did Biography Day encourage creativity, but it also deepened students’ understanding of perseverance and dedication to achieving greatness.
