Tenth graders at Ward Melville High School participated in the annual Stop the Bleed training in their health classes on Sept. 24 and 25. The training was led by district security personnel and taught students life-saving skills, including how to properly dress a wound and apply a tourniquet.
The two-day program has taken place at Ward Melville High School since 2020. Students also learned the importance of acting quickly during an emergency and how to safely secure an emergency situation until first responders arrive.
