Setauket Elementary School third graders in Ms. Sheprow’s class teamed up with sixth graders in Mr. Aberg’s class for a spaghetti STEM challenge. Students worked in groups to see who could build the tallest tower using uncooked spaghetti noodles to support one large marshmallow. The activity encouraged students to think like engineers while being creative and focusing on different principles of design. Collaboration across grade levels also helped to foster a school community at Setauket.
