Setauket Elementary School’s fifth and sixth graders took an important step toward becoming lifesavers on Wednesday, March 5. As part of their health and fitness unit, students partnered with the Setauket Fire Department to learn hands-only CPR.

With guidance from David Stern of the Setauket Fire Department, students were taught the proper technique for administering this essential emergency procedure. The hands-on training aimed to empower young learners with the confidence and skills needed to respond in critical situations.

The collaboration between the school and the fire department highlights the importance of early CPR education. By equipping students with lifesaving knowledge, the program ensures that even the youngest members of the community are prepared to make a difference in an emergency.

A heartfelt thank-you goes out to David Stern and the Setauket Fire Department for their dedication and commitment to teaching these vital skills. Their efforts in training the next generation of lifesavers are truly invaluable to the community.
