As a result of their talent and skills, Ward Melville High School’s Science Bowl team captured a first-place win in the Long Island High School Regional Science Bowl contest this winter.

During the event, 24 high school teams from the region were challenged with questions on engineering, mathematics and various sciences. The event was held at Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton.

As the regional winner, Ward Melville’s team will now compete at the National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C., this April. Congratulations to Harry Gao, Gunes Sunar, Anna Xing, Sean Skinner and Jason Yin, along with their adviser Philip Medina.
