Elementary schools across the district celebrated International Dot Day. Students engaged in read-alouds of “The Dot” by Peter H. Reynolds, which encourages students to celebrate their creativity and innovation. Through hands-on art projects, students followed the theme of the story by “making their marks” and created masterpieces.

Three Village students in prekindergarten through 12th grade streamed through the doors of their respective school buildings, prepared for a new year of learning on Sept. 3. The students were warmly welcomed by members of the Board of Education, the administration, faculty and staff with many of the campuses decorated with “welcome back” signs and balloons.

Students quickly found their classrooms and became reacquainted with their peers and teachers, followed by a full day of instruction.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kevin Scanlon reported that opening day was a huge success and that he was excited to see such enthusiasm from the school community.
