The Three Village Central School District has appointed Matthew Wells as its new director of personnel. Mr. Wells comes to Three Village from the Sachem Central School District, where he has been an administrator for 16 years.

Mr. Wells has been the principal of Cayuga Elementary School since 2008. In this role, he supervised, evaluated and trained all staff members. He often led interview committees for the hiring of district staff members and was responsible for personnel assignments, as well as class placements and scheduling. While in the Sachem Central School District, Mr. Wells served as president of the Sachem Administrator’s Association for three years. Additionally, he has been an administrative coach for accountability, equity and excellence since 2020.

In addition to serving as principal in Sachem, Mr. Wells was a classroom teacher in the district for six years. He then went on to hold an assistant principal role in the Westhampton Beach School District. Mr. Wells received his bachelor’s degree from Salisbury State University and his master’s from Stony Brook University. He also holds a New York State School District Administrator certification.

The appointment of Mr. Wells is effective July 1 and is due to the retirement of Alan Baum.
