Teachers

The New York State Education Department specifies the certification required by teachers. It is incumbent upon each teacher to keep their certification current and to ensure that they are meeting the requirements for professional development.  The links on this page will provide you with information from NYSED regarding certification and professional development.

Teaching Assistants

Teaching assistant must be certified teachers or teaching assistants from New York State Education Department Teaching assistants are not teacher aides; they are responsible for co-development and implementation of instructional lesson plans.  Anyone interested in becoming a teaching assistant must possess a valid teacher and/or teaching assistant certification.
